Streszczenie wykładu:

We will give a brief survey on the problems related to images of word maps on Lie and algebraic groups. This problem has seen lots of contributions in recent times. We will finally describe our contribution to the problem when the word maps are power maps. If time permits we will sketch some of the proofs.
